Message from the President |
As another varsity and campus recreation competition year in the OCAA comes to a close, it brings to mind all the great accomplishments of our diverse current and former student athletes. Who could ask for a more positive and challenging role than attempting to excel in sport, have great fun in campus recreation, achieve academic success and develop teamwork and leadership skills.
With the many changing faces of sport, OCAA schools will need to be responsive to the multicultural society within our schools. I trust that our leadership at each institution will continually develop an agenda of change that will best serve our student athletes.
With sport being a universal language
that provides a forum for all
aspects of human growth and development,
we are fortunate to be part
of that experience. All of our schools
and even future employers of our
athlete graduates continually reap
the benefits of the growth achieved
by our athletes.
Congratulations to all our
medalists and participants in the
winter semester of the varsity and
campus recreation season. All the
Athletic and Campus Recreation
Awards banquets will provide an
enjoyable end to another school year.
Once again I thank the Humber students and staff that produce this first class publication. As well, the Central Office team led by Blair Webster continues to do an exemplary job of keeping us on track. Congratulations to Lindsay Bax in her new role as Marketing and Communications Coordinator and Scott Dennis in his new role at Durham College. Welcome to Mark Couch who stepped into the role as our new Sport Services Coordinator.
All the best to our graduating athletes! We look forward to another great year with our returning and new student athletes in 2008/09.
